The Green Software Expertyzer is a web-based analysis system for Green Software Design used to improve the “software carbon footprint”. The Expertyzer is based on data on the resource consumption of specific technologies, products and architectures as well as best practices for Green Software Design. Through a question and answer process, the system gets to know your software.
The Expertyzer shows an overview of the areas of action that influence the eco-friendliness of the software. And it allows an assessment of the state of your own software engineering and in which direction improvements are possible.
These features are included:
- Suitable for web applications and app-based applications
- Analysis of software and procedure-related CO2-influencing factorsn
- Evaluation of software based on criteria for GSD
- Evaluation of the intended use by calculating prevented CO2-emissions
- Demonstrating options for improvement
- Overall report of partial evaluations
The FULL Version offers more comprehensive analyses and therefore more precise recommendations. It is the ideal introduction and a constant companion in sustainable software design. The FULL version additionally allows the calculation of positive climate effects. This means that carbon-neutral applications can even be achieved without compensation.
The results report includes:
On the basis of the Green Software Design criteria the results of the Expertyzer will be evaluated and summarized.
How to make your software climate friendly and climate neutral
The Expertyzer provides optimisation suggestions to reduce the software carbon footprint. Based on this, the individual procedure for the respective software is found. Depending on the application, it is entirely possible to achieve carbon neutrality without offsetting or to reduce it to a minimum. Otherwise, the unavoidable, minimised software carbon footprint can be offset through CO2-compensation.
The result is something to be proud of: It is awarded the Green Software Design Label.
